November is a busy month for me. I have been preparing for the 20th Annual Conference: Servant-Leadership: A Celebration (Nov 1 & 2) as well as well as packing for the trip to Uganda where I am part of the PEPAL team highlighting Health Systems Strengthening to develop their skills especially in innovation and creativity.

I am joined by my husband Ralph on both occasions. He is a Leadership Development consultant and a Programme Director at London Business School and is also the Chair of the UK Greenleaf Centre for Servant-Leadership, co-founded by John Noble and himself.

The discipline and the creative space needed to bring about artwork or something you are proud of, is quite often second nature to many artists. But for leaders allowing themselves the quiet time to let the right answer float to the top can be daunting. By letting go of the hustle and bustle

and go within themselves, most leaders will

find the answer to their situation or project

without much of the stress that can swamp

them and their teams.

It is exciting times, encouraged, supported

and given the opportunities to develop,

leadership in the 21st century may yet

encourage us all to be better than what

we think we are.
